Voice notes

Record a voice message in any Basecamp comment box. Assistant attaches the recording as an audio block inside the comment.

Recording a voice note

1. Open any Basecamp to-do, card, or message with a comment field.
2. Click the microphone button injected by Assistant next to the comment toolbar.
3. Speak. Click again to stop.
4. Click Insert to drop the audio into the comment.

Playback

Voice notes render as audio blocks inside the comment. Anyone viewing the comment in Basecamp (with or without the extension) sees an audio player they can play back.

Permissions

Browser microphone permission is required. The first time you record, Chrome will prompt you to allow access on 3.basecamp.com. You can revoke or re-grant it any time from the site info dropdown in the Chrome address bar.

Tips

• Keep voice notes short — long recordings are harder for teammates to scan.
• Voice notes count toward your Basecamp attachment storage.
